Emax

What is E-Max?

E-Max is a premium all-ceramic dental restoration made from lithium disilicate glass-ceramic. It is widely used in modern cosmetic and restorative dentistry because it provides excellent strength, durability, and natural aesthetics.

Unlike traditional metal-based crowns, E-Max restorations are completely metal-free, allowing light to pass through the material in a similar way to natural tooth enamel.

What is E-Max used for?

E-Max restorations are commonly used for:

  • Dental crowns

  • Veneers

  • Inlays and onlays

  • Small bridges (in selected cases)

  • Cosmetic smile makeovers

They are particularly popular for front teeth restorations where appearance is important.

Benefits of E-Max Restorations

Highly aesthetic

  • Mimics the natural translucency of tooth enamel

  • Blends seamlessly with surrounding teeth

Strong and durable

  • Lithium disilicate provides high flexural strength (~400 MPa)

  • Resistant to cracking and wear

Metal-free

  • Ideal for patients who want natural looking restorations without metal

  • Eliminates dark lines sometimes seen with metal crowns

Long-lasting

  • With proper care, E-Max restorations can last 10–15 years or longer

Biocompatible

  • Gentle on gums and surrounding tissues

The E-Max Treatment Process

  1. Consultation and assessment
Your dentist examines the tooth and determines whether E-Max is the best restoration.

  2. Tooth preparation
The tooth is shaped slightly to allow the crown or veneer to fit properly.

  3. Digital scan or impression
A detailed impression or 3D scan is taken and sent to the dental laboratory.

  4. Custom fabrication
The restoration is crafted using high-strength lithium disilicate ceramic.

  5. Fitting and bonding
The E-Max crown or veneer is bonded securely to the tooth for a precise fit and natural appearance.

Caring for E-Max Restorations

To keep your restoration in excellent condition:

  • Brush twice daily with fluoride toothpaste

  • Floss daily

  • Attend regular dental check-ups and hygiene visits

  • Avoid biting very hard objects (e.g., ice, pens)
